The Department of Orthopaedics has expertise in every orthopaedic subspecialty. Inpatient services are divided into teams that care for general and specialized orthopaedic patients. The divisions are: Joint Replacements, Trauma, Arthroscopic and Sports Injuries, Oncology, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Paediatrics, Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Avtar Singh is Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon in Amandeep Hospital. He has done his graduation and post-graduation from Medical College, Amritsar and after that he had training from many institutions from Germany. He was awarded fellowship of British Orthopaedics Association in 2012.
He is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is one of the founder member of Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgery & life member of Indian Orthopaedic Association and Punjab Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Avtar Singh & Dr. Amandeep Kaur started Amandeep hospital in 1990 with 5 Beds and now it has grown to 500 bedded chains of Hospitals.He started Closed Inter-locking Nailing in the region in 1996. He brought Micro-vascular surgery to Amritsar in 2001, when he joined the hands with his childhood friend Dr. Ravi Mahajan.
Till date he has done more than 15000 Joint Replacement Surgeries and more than 1.25 Lacs Orthopaedic surgeries. Apart from the Knee Replacement, he has a huge experience in Total Hip Replacement and Revision Joint Replacement surgeries. He has been honoured by Former Prime Minister of India and Chief Minister of Punjab.
